wysiwyg is an all-in-one lighting design software with fully integrated CAD, plots, data, visualization and virtual show control. It features the largest CAD library with thousands of 3D objects you can choose from to design your entire show.
wysiwyg comes in three platforms:
- Report – to help you create precise plots and automatically track technical data.
- Design – what you would use to create looks, lighting cues and scenic images offline.
- Perform – includes direct DMX and Art-Net connection with consoles, CITP for media servers, and integration with motion controllers.
CAST Academy Online Courses
Designed for anyone new to wysiwyg. This course will introduce you to wysiwyg, provide a product overview and explore some of the most common workflows, tools and commands so you can confidently begin creating in wysiwyg and bring your visions to life!
In this course, you will learn how to use CAD drawing tools, work with wysiwyg’s inbuilt templates or build a venue based on specific dimensions. By the end of the course you will have knowledge of how to customize venue appearance and scenic elements while using the wysiwyg library efficiently.
Whether you use conventional or automated fixtures, this course will show you how to insert them along with accessories, including gel and gobos, onto hang structures including pipes and truss. Work efficiently, insert, modify and position lighting fixtures. Learn how to focus your instruments, patching and assign attributes such as dimmer, circuit and fixture ID.
Bring your design concepts to life: Sometimes it can be hard to create, design or convey a concept without visuals. This course will show you how to bring your design concepts to life. Set your lighting fixtures’ intensity, position, colour, gobos and more without the need to connect with an external source. With wysiwyg it is easy to create scenes and present virtual simulations
In this course, you will learn how how to create professional scaled plots and lighting paperwork, fixture schedules, hookups, pipe tapes, color and gobo lists to communicate a design accurately with your team.
